Verona: Yesterday, the Montagues and the Capulets had yet another civil brawl on the peaceful streets of Verona.
Statistics say that, although no Montagues or Capulets have been severely wounded, there have been quite a few injuries sustained by the public. “I have had enough of this,” says Traceo Matthewgret, a local grocery store owner, “This would be the second time that they have ransacked my store for food to throw at each other! That’s two times too many!”
It has yet to be determined who started this fight. Says Benvolio Montague, “It was Tybalt Capulet who provoked this bloody brawl.” Says Abram, a servant from the house of the Capulets, “It was definitely Benvolio who started this civil brawl! I saw it with mine own eyes! Benvolio drew his sword and bit his thumb at Tybalt!”This issue shall be taken to court for further analysis.
The Prince is furious about this civil brawl. He has been disturbed about these fights twice before in this peaceful city, and has finally decided to draw the line. “If ever you disturb our streets again,” he was reported to have said, “your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace.”
